DHK Architecture is a Hobart based architecture firm. Founded and Established by Joel Kreiner in 2013.

DHK Architecture is a multi disciplinary team of architects, designers and builders. we specialise in urban design, commercial, retail, hospitality, tourism, heritage, mixed use, residential, multi residential projects & interior design.

We also work in collaboration with other design offices both in Hobart and Melbourne, providing flexibility in scope and size of work undertaken. this cohesive and collaborative approach, which encompasses a full investigation and interrogation of the brief, is found to have far better design outcomes than any individual view.

We take a wholistic design approach. design outcomes are informed by client identity, site specifics & the project brief.

The architecture takes cues from its context, it responds to site condition & local climate.

Other considerations include social sustainability, environmental sustainability, commodity, firmness & delight.

We aim to seek an architectural narrative that conveys a sense of time and place that celebrates our unique Australian way of life.

We design for the user, an architecture for people, which is considered, detailed and highly crafted.

The Design Process

An outline of the process undertaken to achieve final design drawings for our clientele.

We look forward to talking with all potential clients about their development aspirations. An initial consultation is free of charge and we appreciate all inquiries of interest .

If you decide that we are right for you we will prepare a written statement which includes a description of the work(s) to be undertaken. The brief is like an instruction manual that gives you, the client, a comprehensive undertsanding of our procedures and policies.

This is where design comes to life through the procurement of sketches, physical models and 3D rendered images. These mediums will explain the design concept and allow the client to visulize the design in clarity.

Development Application

By this point the design documentation has been worked up to a high level of detail. These documents allow consultants, such as lighting experts, to provide input if necessary and can also be used if engaging a quantity surveyor.

Post Design Services

Once all relevant approvals have been obtained from government and regulatory bodies the design is ready for tendering and construction.
